Backyard

Charlie has his very first backyard since he has been with us. Unfortunately, he does not know what he is supposed to be doing back there. For years I have been dreaming of letting the dog out in the backyard to do his business instead of dragging him all over the apartment complex at at all hours of the day and night. After he had marked all of the trees and bushes in the backyard (within the first couple of days) he got bored with the backyard and just lays there until Chris or I take him for a walk in the neighborhood. I think that he has us figured out.

Roses

I have a brown thumb, so I thought that I should take some pictures of my roses this year because this is probably be the only year that they will look this good.

Supernanny scares the crap out of me...

Supernanny and Nanny 911 scare the crap out of me. Before I got pregnant, I thought that these shows were funny or that something was wrong with the parents to "allow" their children to act in that manner. With 2 little ones on the way I can just imagine how easily things can get out of control. I hope that this is not a vision into my future.

It is amazing how sleep deprivation can effect the parents in these shows. Most of these families can not get the kids to sleep alone in their own bed. Either the kids end up sleeping in the parents' bed (in the middle & sideways) or the parents end up sleeping in a twin bed. Chris and I have already decided that the kids are not sleeping in our bed. I hope that a little sleep deprivation does not get the best of us.

The funniest/saddest episode I ever saw was a family with a little boy that would not pee in the toilet. His mother would take the little boy for a walk (like a dog) and he would go in the bushes, on trees, and on fire hydrants. The mom thought that it was the cutest thing. If she wanted to take something for a walk, she should have gotten a dog.

Lord help us!

Tag... I guess I am it!

1. 10 years ago - I was a freshman at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. This is about the time that I realized that I hated chemistry and changed my major from Clinical Laboratory Science to Human Resource Management.

2. 5 things on my to do list - Finish cleaning out the old apartment, unpack more boxes, find places for random junk, hang pictures on the wall, shop for more maternity clothes (mine won't last too long)

3. Snacks that I enjoy- Peanut Butter M&Ms, Harry & David Moose Munch, Kudos, and Fruit Snacks (there is a chocolate theme going on)

4. What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire - Pay off everything, put some money away and book a cruise ASAP

5. 5 places I have lived - Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua (born there, but was only there for 1 month), Houston, Corpus Christi, Austin, and Round Rock

6. 5 jobs I have had - HR Assistant, Secondary Marketing for a mortgage company, Clinique Sales Associate, Loan Officer Assistant, and Real Estate Assistant

7. 3 of my bad habits - Sweet tooth, couch potato, and burping (blame the pregnancy hormones)

8. 5 random things people don't know about me - I used to travel around the country pitching for my softball team, I had a job as a softball umpire, my left hand is double jointed, I was born in Nicaragua right after my parents got out of the Peace Corps, my mother-in-law and I both have the middle name Lee

Hey Nina... TAG YOU ARE IT!

Crazy Cravings

I have caught the wonderful symptom of pregnancy cravings. I think that Chris secretly enjoys this symptom because every once in awhile he gets a little snack at night. Just because I have the craving doesn't necessarily mean that it is going to stay down. So far I have had the following cravings:
  1. Breakfast - eggs, bacon & hashbrowns (no pancakes because they sounded gross at the time)
  2. Cinnamon rolls
  3. Carne Guisada with chips and salsa (I suffered for this one)
  4. Steak
  5. Potato salad
  6. Breakfast tacos (unfortunately I got this one too early at night because Whataburger does not start serving breakfast until 11 PM no matter how much I begged)
  7. Crawfish (Luckily I took a nausea pill beforehand)
  8. Hamburger, french fries and chocolate shake (more suffering)
  9. Southwestern eggrolls
  10. Blueberry bagels and cream cheese
  11. BBQ
  12. Taco Bell chicken grilled stuffed burrito & cinnamon twists
There seems to be a theme of breakfast foods and meat. With all of these cravings it is hard to believe that I actually lost 6 lbs at my latest prenatal appointment. I guess that I just need to start craving things that are a little easier on my poor stomach.

Will it ever end?

Every time I think that the morning sickness is over, the green monster rears its' ugly head. I have been sick since week 5 and it is already week 13 with no signs of stopping. Our realtor had twins a few years ago and she said she was nauseous until week 17. I guess there is hope. With my luck, I am going to be sick on the way to the hospital to have the babies.

I don't know who it bothers more, me or the dog. Every time I make a run to the bathroom, the poor dog runs the other direction and hides in his bed. Poor Charlie! I think that he has an idea that something is happening but he is not exactly sure what exactly is going on. Boy is he going to be surprised in a few short months.

I keep hearing stories about women who were pregnant for 9 months without any morning sickness. I think that they have birth induced amnesia. As soon as the baby is put into their arms, the memory of the previous 9 months is completely forgotten. They go on to spread these rumors about how wonderful their symptom-free pregnancy was and how they want to be pregnant forever. If you are one of those women, don't tell me because I am hip to that game.

Poor Charlie

Discovery Health

I totally need to stop watching Discovery Health! I love all of the baby shows, especially "House of Babies." Every time the baby is born I start balling (blame the pregnancy hormones). The worst ones are the shows that feature the problems with having multiples; twin to twin transfusion, one twin in distress, premature delivery, babies in the NICU, etc. I guess that I just have to keep praying, stay positive and BLOCK THE CHANNEL.

Spam?!?!

My blog has been off line for about a week because it was flagged as spam. It has been so frustrating checking my blog everyday just to see if it is back up. I was even considering starting a new one. How can my babies' pictures possibly be considered spam? I would understand if I was selling something or I did not take the time to customize my blog, but I did not. Ugh!!!
